Focusing on how thoughts and perspectives survive from ancient civilisations to now, and how they physically manifested their understanding of the cosmos, I came across the field of astroarchaeology. It is often beyond our control how narratives of spiritual philosophy change through time, but archaeological evidence does not. I feel astroarchaeology perfectly embodies the phrase 'as above, so below' that ripples across time and cultures, as the field dissects our earthly experiences by studying the skies.
I created Trees in Moonlight with the sensation of an incomprehensible force enveloping my world. No matter how objectively you read spiritual philosophy, it is bound to change your understanding of the world. The drawing reflects on what exists above, below, and in between. It has three sections: a dark blue circle with a magenta highlight, inspired by the radiance of a full moon, symbolising a powerful cosmic existence; a textured atmosphere, marked by lines that warp under that cosmic influence; and a desolate ground with three barren trees, echoing forgotten pasts.
The texture created by repeating lines shows that even the slightest deviation from a precise path creates significant ripples, mirroring the collective impact of each human life on our understanding of reality today.
